Description:

Put Your Heart Into It was born as a business to tackle waste-culture within the events industry, and Christmas time embodies this chaotic consumerism.

Excessive food consumption and mass produced/short life span gift buying does not result in a more joyous time spent with family and friends.

After many years of inspiring others to appreciate and upcycle household items and garden foraging, we would like to share our sustainable event management tips, styling and gift making ideas in one Ethical Christmas Extravaganza.

Expect ideas galore, abundance, connection, inspiration, budget saving tips, local food and wine, lots of laughter and fun.

Throughout the day you'll discover a diverse range of clever table setting ideas to make your Christmas event extra special; from concept development to sourcing props and hand-crafting the details, through to how to set up a gorgeous table for your next dinner party or gathering.

There will be a vast range of visual displays and demonstrations to inspire you, as well as some hands on creative activities. You will receive advice from professional stylists and skilled artisans. This is a great opportunity to get inspired and meet other like-minded and friendly locals.

This workshop will feature talks by Laura Issell and Jessie Alice, two women fighting waste culture and consumerism.

Discover sustainable food art tips and techniques from Laura, a food art and stylist pro with an abundance of experience up her sleeve. Including an insider’s list of local and organic food suppliers to use for your Christmas meal.

Be inspired by Jess, a food-waste activist making massive changes within the food industry.

On top of all of that, we will have an ethical Christmas market stand with handmade local ceramics, plants, gifts and books on the day for purchase for anyone looking for a few extra unique and ethical gifts for loved ones.

What you will learn:

- Learn techniques and skills to create different styled themes for your table settings using what you have at home.

- Learn how to create your very own ceramic clay gift and name tags to use this Christmas. Take home at least x10 ceramic tags that you have hand created.

- Learn unique gift wrapping ideas.

What you will get:

- Ceramic clay tags to use for gifts and name tags for your dinner parties.

- Abundant Grazing Table with local and organic produce, wine & tea.

- Insider’s knowledge and guidance on how to celebrate in style without compromising the environment or abundance.

Their work creates conversations about the problems with our modern connection to food and its origins, and how we can reimagine the value that wasted food holds. Through shouting out love for eating in season, and celebrating the work of local food producers, traders, and growers, the Thoughtful Kitchen shows people how they can eat more simply, deliciously, and sustainably whilst saving money and having a munching good time.
